Over the past few years, our staff team has grown and changed. In 2019, we want to help you get to know the Gateway team! Each month one of our blogs will introduce you to a different staff member. This month we will be meeting Beth Howard.

 

Beth, what is your job title?

I am the Events & Building Manager.

 

Can you briefly explain your job to us?

I manage the hiring of the building for internal and external events, maintain the building and do general administration.

 

What is your favourite part of your job?

The events manager side. I love meeting new people and forming relationships with people and organisations who hire the building.

 

What is your favourite Bible verse or story? Why is it your favourite?

The story of King Jehoshaphat [in 2 Chronicles 20]. I love the fact that Israel trusted God so much that as they went out into battle they sent people ahead of the army worshipping God. When they arrived on the battlefield they found their enemies already defeated!

 

What do you like to do to relax after your work day?

I enjoy cooking. I also like watching pretty much any American sitcom. At the moment, my favourite is New Girl.

 

If you could turn any activity into an Olympic sport, what would you have a good chance at winning a medal for?

Probably something where I could share pop culture knowledge – my brain holds information on celebrities for way too long!

 

In addition to working for the church Monday – Friday, Beth volunteers on the worship team and as a Life Group leader with her husband Josh.
