Meet the Staff Member: Amy Sprenger

Over the past few years, our staff team has grown and changed. In 2019, we want to help you get to know the Gateway team! Each month a few of our blogs will introduce you to a different staff member. This week we will be meeting Amy Sprenger. Amy, what is your job title?I am Gateway's Children and Families Worker. Can you briefly explain your job to us?My job is to facilitate opportunities for Gateway children to learn about and encounter God. I do this by heading up the Sunday kids work, inputting into other aspects of our Sunday gatherings and church-life, and encouraging and equipping Gateway parents to raise their children for a life of faith. What is your favourite part of your job?I love the little glimpses into the spiritual lives of our children: when a child engages with God or says something which shows a real understanding of who God is or a parent shares an encouraging story from their child's faith journey. What is your favourite Bible verse or story? Why is it your favourite?1 Corinthians 13:1-8. It feels like a catch-all for day-to-day life. What do you like to do to relax after your work day?I enjoy running, reading and being outside. If you could turn any activity into an Olympic sport, what would you have a good chance at winning a medal for?Talking! Amy works for the church part-time on a Monday. In addition, Amy leads a Sunday kids work team as a volunteer.
