Over the past few years, our staff team has grown and changed. In 2019, we want to help you get to know the Gateway team! Each month a few of our blogs will introduce you to a different staff member. This week we will be meeting Amy Sprenger.

Amy, what is your job title?

I am Gateway’s Children and Families Worker.

Can you briefly explain your job to us?

My job is to facilitate opportunities for Gateway children to learn about and encounter God. I do this by heading up the Sunday kids work, inputting into other aspects of our Sunday gatherings and church-life, and encouraging and equipping Gateway parents to raise their children for a life of faith.

What is your favourite part of your job?

I love the little glimpses into the spiritual lives of our children: when a child engages with God or says something which shows a real understanding of who God is or a parent shares an encouraging story from their child’s faith journey.

What is your favourite Bible verse or story? Why is it your favourite?

1 Corinthians 13:1-8. It feels like a catch-all for day-to-day life.

What do you like to do to relax after your work day?

I enjoy running, reading and being outside.

If you could turn any activity into an Olympic sport, what would you have a good chance at winning a medal for?

Talking!

Amy works for the church part-time on a Monday. In addition, Amy leads a Sunday kids work team as a volunteer.
