David, what is your job title?
Elder
Can you briefly explain your job to us?
As part of the elders team, I help to oversee church life and seek God for where he’s leading us; on Sundays you might see me anchoring meetings and sometimes even preaching! I also do a lot of operational work: overseeing Sunday gatherings, the church calendar and different events and activities, as well as looking after Gateway’s social action and outreach. This includes running the food bank outlet on Mondays.
What is your favourite part of your job?
Working with my amazing colleagues of course!
What is your favourite Bible verse or story? Why is it your favourite?
Revelation 21! It’s where we’re all headed!
What do you like to do to relax after your work day?
Usually slobbing out with something on Netflix.
If you could turn any activity into an Olympic sport, what would you have a good chance at winning a medal for?
Sadly, it’s map-reading. Or more to the point, finding my way around the UK without needing to use a map. It’s really quite weird, but it’s true.
David is generally in the church office Monday-Friday.
