What we've been up to!
As we look back over the past month it has been exciting to see work started in the parking area at the front of St Mark’s as it being transformed in order to increase rentability of the building and provide a much safer access to the church. This project is being funded through a grant and parts of the offerings we raised in 2018 and 2021 and has taken over 3 years to gain planning permission for. As well as this work taking place general development on the grounds continues with much help from the community payback team and our Gateway Grounds team. We have now planted at range of herbs and fruit plants in the planters along the side of the church. We are really enjoying the diverse range of Gateway people stepping up and leading during our Sunday meetings since we moved to one Gathering. It was brilliant to have Bryn leading our all age message the other week with so much creativity and kids involvement. We were also blessed at our May Powerhouse prayer meeting where Joy shared about India and Esther presented the budget so well. We thank God for Faith and the inspiring woman she is as she shared about her recent mission trip to Zimbabwe with so many encouraging testimonies of healing and God’s blessing. Chris and Antony also recently took a trip to Sweden for a conference of different ChristCentral churches where they experienced God speaking and moving in power. We had a visit from Pastor Benny from Strings of Life Church during one of our Sunday Gatherings who presented Gateway with a certificate of appreciation as we continue to partner with them.
This is a place where we hope to share what we have been up to in Gateway, to let the whole church know of activities and aspects of church life including wider outreach and initiatives that you may not always get to witness or hear about. We want to encourage everyone with all the good and exciting projects we are part of and give space to look back, reflect on and thank God and others in our church community who serve in the local area, the city or further afield.
If you have something to share please email it in to sarah.woodger@gatewayleeds.net
