What we've been up to!

Here are some highlights from a busy few weeks at Gateway…

At our Vision Sunday in February Chris unpacked some of St Mark's history and looked at our vision and strategy going forward with an emphasis that this year is for rest, reconciliation and family. This Gathering was followed by our Vision and Values course where the Frosts hosted 14 new people for lunch and Sam led a time for them to find out more about becoming a member of Gateway church.

Our Welcome team have been busy recently on a Sunday with so many visitors and new people wanted to find out more – Thankyou to all those who serve on that team each week.

We hosted a Faith in Kids event at St Mark's called Raising Confident Kids in a Confusing World, designed to equip parents to talk to their children about the subjects of bodies, gender, sexuality and their sense of self, from a Biblical point of view. Ed Drew encouraged us by providing a Jesus-focussed foundation for raising our children.

We had an encouraging time at Powerhouse at the beginning of Feb praying for breakthrough in the Ukraine, following our current structure of 40 days of prayer.

In Explorers, the children have been exploring the story of Pentecost and God’s presence and peace was tangible during this session.

We’ve had one Men’s and one Women’s evenings so far this year with Matt Hatch from Mosaic speaking about Surrender to the Gateway men who also enjoyed eating curry together and at the recent women’s evening Bethan gave a really powerful testimony and encouragement to all the women there to have faith in God because he is working in all circumstances, and he will never leave us.

The Grounds team have been out and about in January and February despite the bad weather continuing the path around the grounds which is now 183 meters complete out of a total of 478, so that’s 38% done!

This is a place where we hope to share what we have been up to in Gateway, to let the whole church know of activities and aspects of church life including wider outreach and initiatives that you may not always get to witness or hear about. We want to encourage everyone with all the good and exciting projects we are part of and give space to look back, reflect on and thank God and others in our church community who serve in the local area, the city or further afield.

If you have something to share please email it in to sarah.woodger@gatewayleeds.net
