What we've been up to!

In the lead up to Christmas many of our church family have been getting creative in their acts of Kindness…

On behalf of the Ukraine prayer group, Tom Exalby has recently sent a care package Christmas parcel for our friends in the Ukraine Church. This included 120 paracord keyrings in Ukraine colours and also camouflage to be used to zip zips on coats with gloves on in the cold weather - Thankyou Tom.

John and Lesley visited All Saints’ primary school in Richmond Hill and delivered an hour Christmas lesson with the year 1 class.

We had a brilliant Sunday with special guest speaker Jeremy Simpkins who leads https://christcentralchurches.org/ and shared the story of ChristCentral and Newfrontiers churches. It was a really encouraging meeting with lots of openness to the Holy Spirit, an extended time of Worship, contributions from different people and the summary of the Newfrontiers story was really helpful in giving bigger sense of mission and purpose.

We saw 7 guests on our recent Vision and values course who all are keen to get plugged into the church family and 4 more Deacons appointed at our November Powerhouse evening. The Jubilee Plus conference held in Liverpool was a very inspiring time, the theme was ‘change is possible’ in individuals, churches and the nation. Lloyds did a great job of leading worship and 8-10 gateway members attended.

Natalie Hardy visited our Gateway Youth Sunday night group and led a creative session to prepare for Creation Sunday, the group spent time making bunting, aprons, and a poster and then held a special ecogen Christmas themed stall to raise money and promote environmentally friendly products. Thankyou Natalie and the Care for Creation team.

This is a place where we hope to share what we have been up to in Gateway, to let the whole church know of activities and aspects of church life including wider outreach and initiatives that you may not always get to witness or hear about. We want to encourage everyone with all the good and exciting projects we are part of and give space to look back, reflect on and thank God and others in our church community who serve in the local area, the city or further afield.

If you have something to share please email it in to sarah.woodger@gatewayleeds.net
