What we've been up to!
Looking back over the last few weeks here are some church highlights and things to celebrate and thank God for…
We held a Baptism Sunday at the beginning of the month where three of our young people Livvy, Tamara and William shared their stories of God’s faithfulness and were baptised. There were lots of guests and visitors that morning including over 20 non-Christians; with some positive feedback from one guest in particular who felt really warmly welcomed – Praise God!
The Well-being course is now three weeks in and the videos and discussions have really worked. We’ve seen 4 guests join and one said after last weeks session “that was exactly what I needed”!
We had an excellent Leaders evening where friend and former Gatewayer Adam Price who now leads Hope Church Harrogate came and shared simple and encouraging stories and ways we can share our faith and journey with others outside the church. There has been so many financial answers to prayer recently including receiving a massive £74K grant for the vestry renovation alongside another £1000 worth of building bookings came in last week. We also want to praise God and give a huge thank you to all those who gave to our offering in October - we have raised over £15,000! This year we are supporting the ChristCentral Offering that will help equip our friends church planting, raising leaders and serving the poor across the Americas, Africa, the Middle East, South East Asia and Europe.
This is a place where we hope to share what we have been up to in Gateway, to let the whole church know of activities and aspects of church life including wider outreach and initiatives that you may not always get to witness or hear about. We want to encourage everyone with all the good and exciting projects we are part of and give space to look back, reflect on and thank God and others in our church community who serve in the local area, the city or further afield.
If you have something to share please email it in to sarah.woodger@gatewayleeds.net
