Stand therefore having fastened on the belt of truth, and having put on the breastplate of righteousness – Ephesians 6:14

A lady was asked to lie for her boss. He wanted her to say that he wasn’t in if the CEO of the company phoned. That morning, the CEO did ring, and she put the call through to her boss.

Afterwards, the boss came and shouted at her, ‘Why did you do what I told you not to do?’ She said, ‘I always tell the truth and I need you to know that. If you know I won’t lie for you, you’ll also know that I won’t lie to you-either behind your back or face to face – therefore you can trust me!’ Her boss said nothing and went back into his office. He never asked her to lie again.

She had gone to work wearing the belt of truth. God honoured her. There was a good result.

Are you wearing the belt of truth today?

Prayer – Father, give us courage to put on the belt of truth as we live, work, and play today, this week, this month, this year! Amen.
