Over the past few years, our staff team has grown and changed. In 2019, we want to help you get to know the Gateway team! Each month a few of our blogs will introduce you to a different staff member. This week we will be meeting Chris Frost.

Chris, what is your job title?

My job title is Elder.

Can you briefly explain your job to us?

My job is to lead Gateway into wider Kingdom influence.

What is your favourite part of your job?

The privilege of helping people discover their identity in Christ and getting to release people into the dreams they’ve held to see the Kingdom come. Pragmatically, I also enjoy the diversity of meeting with all kinds of people in all kinds of places!

What is your favourite Bible verse or story? Why is it your favourite?

Probably the story of the Prodigal son (Luke 15:11-32). I keep coming back to it; the younger son reminds me of the deceitfulness of licentiousness while the older son reminds me of the danger of legalism. Above all though, it moves me deeply as I reflect on the lavish love of the Father! What a God we serve!

What do you like to do to relax after your work day?

Other staff members jokingly tease me that I’m a bit competitive; guess there’s some truth in that as my dream ticket to relax would be playing sport such as football, tennis or squash. I enjoy a good film, too.

If you could turn any activity into an Olympic sport, what would you have a good chance at winning a medal for?

It would have to be bargain hunting. I love finding a great deal and then telling everyone about it! Hope its not too cheesy a link, but there’s a sweet picture of sharing the gospel there: we get to tell people about the amazing offer of forgiveness of sins, freely available through Christ!

Chris works from Sunday to Thursday.
