Over the past few years, our staff team has grown and changed. In 2019, we want to help you get to know the Gateway team! Each month a few of our blogs will introduce you to a different staff member. This week we will be meeting Elizabeth Legendre.

Elizabeth, what is your job title?

I am Gateway’s Community & Communications Manager

Can you briefly explain your job to us?

I plan and update all of our communications. I work with our international student ministry, support our IMPACT team members in their roles, organise events, support Chris Frost as his PA and other things as needed. A portion of my time is also seconded to Share Jesus International where I serve as their communications officer.

What is your favourite part of your job?

I like that there are so many different elements to my role so I get to do something different everyday; I also really love working with the rest of the staff team. I think my favourite thing though is the fact that I get to create spaces where other people can use their gifts.

What is your favourite Bible verse or story? Why is it your favourite?

Picking a favourite is hard. Daniel 3:17-18, 2 Chronicles 15:15, Psalm 56:8, and Hebrews 11:13-16 have all been lifelines in the ups and downs of living overseas so they come to mind. But there are so many more!

What do you like to do to relax after your work day?

I love to bake, read and, since coming to England, watch panel shows; I’m a fan of Mock the Week and Have I Got News for You.

If you could turn any activity into an Olympic sport, what would you have a good chance at winning a medal for?

Would saying something that is accidentally awkward because it has a different meaning here [in England] count? If not that, then probably something cooking or baking related.

Elizabeth works Monday-Friday in the office; she also volunteers on the Connect team on Sundays and helps to lead a Central Cluster Life Group.
