Over the past few years, our staff team has grown and changed. In 2019, we want to help you get to know the Gateway team! Each month a few of our blogs will introduce you to a different staff member. This week we will be meeting Lizzy Bird.
Lizzy, what is your job title?
My job title is Finance Manager.
Can you briefly explain your job to us?
I steward our finances and employment, have oversight of the budget and give feedback to the Trustees and members on income and spending over the year.
What is your favourite part of your job?
This is going to sound really sad, but it is completing the bank reconciliation and tying up the accounts at the end of the year!
What is your favourite Bible verse or story? Why is it your favourite?
I don’t really have a favourite but… Luke 14:28-31! I like it because it justifies the purpose of my job!
What do you like to do to relax after your work day?
I like to put on an acoustic music play list, pour a glass of wine and eat chocolates!
If you could turn any activity into an Olympic sport, what would you have a good chance at winning a medal for?
Olympic knitting!
Lizzy works for the church part-time Monday-Thursday. In addition, she volunteers in Gateway Tots and on a Sunday kids work team.
