This is a place where we share what we have been up to in Gateway, to let the whole church know of activities and aspects of church life including wider outreach and initiatives that you may not always get to witness or hear about. We want to encourage everyone with all the good and exciting projects we are part of and give space to look back, reflect on and thank God and others in our church community who serve in the local area, the city or further afield.
- We welcomed Eniola into membership at Gateway the other Sunday during the 11.30am Gathering – we love having you part of our family!
- Here is an update on our Amplify Youth events which take place throughout the year – these are gatherings of young people from across churches in Yorkshire. Two weeks ago we held an evening at St Mark’s with around 50 young people there to worship, listen to a message given by Ben Rowe, encounter God and connect with one other; it was such a positive time for many with individuals sharing and testifying to God’s healing and power in their lives. BIG thanks to Hannah Clark and our youth team for facilitating this.
- The Christ-Central Yorkshire Team met the other week to hear Steve Herd give a history looking back at our journey together so far and then looking ahead to how the churches in our region can work together with a call to reach the amazing land of Yorkshire with the gospel!
- Finally we wanted to highlight a couple of ongoing outreach initiatives we run out of St Mark’s…
Most weeks a team including Lesley, Tiyra and Emma cook and assemble meals to feed the homeless which are taking to a couple of different local shelters.
We are starting to get many more referrals for our Fuelbank project with many local struggling individuals and families coming into the building. Thank you to Hannah & David for giving time each week to help operate this service.
